Privacy Policy

Tic-Tac-Toe Mobile · Last updated 25 July 2026

This policy covers the iOS app Tic-Tac-Toe Mobile ("the app"), published by Joshua Griffin ("we", "us"). It explains what data the app collects, who receives it, and what choices you have.

The short version

We do not collect, store, or receive any personal information about you. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, and no server of our own — your games are played entirely on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.

The app is free and supported by advertising. The one thing that does collect data is Google's advertising service, described below.

Advertising

We use Google AdMob to show ads between games. To select and measure those ads, Google's advertising SDK may collect:

DataPurpose
Advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) Selecting and measuring ads, limiting repeat ads
Device information (model, operating system version, language) Serving ads the device can display
IP address, and the approximate region derived from it Serving regionally appropriate ads, fraud prevention
Ad interaction data (ads shown, tapped, closed) Measuring ad performance

This data goes to Google, not to us. We receive only anonymous, aggregate earnings reports — how many ads were shown and what they earned. Nothing in those reports identifies any individual.

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and Google describes its use of partner data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Your choices

App Tracking Transparency (iOS). The first time you open the app, iOS asks whether you allow tracking across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, the app does not access your advertising identifier and you will see non-personalised ads instead. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or turn it off for every app there.

Advertising consent. Where required by law — including the EEA and the UK — the app shows Google's consent form before any ads load, and records your choice. Declining consent does not restrict any part of the game.

Limit ad tracking. You can reset or disable your advertising identifier system-wide in iOS Settings, which prevents it being used to build an advertising profile.

If you are in the EEA or UK

Where personalised advertising is used, the legal basis is your consent, collected through the form described above and withdrawable at any time. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to it. Because we hold no data about you ourselves, requests about advertising data should be directed to Google using the links above; we will help where we can. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are in California

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not receive personal information about you to begin with. You retain the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Ad content is restricted to Google's "G" (general audiences) rating. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will act on it.

Data retention

We retain no personal data, so there is nothing for us to delete on request. Retention of advertising data is governed by Google's policy, linked above. Deleting the app stops all further data collection.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Material changes affecting how data is collected will be reflected in the app's App Store privacy information as well.
